Team captains will make their picks from all of the league players as kick-off the the new season.

The League Commissioner will be on hand to welcome the new players.

We have only a limited number of spaces available, and current Gaels members who are up to date with dues will be given priority.

An email will be sent out this week with additional information.

This is an important event where we recap the 2012 business and vote in the committee members for the 2013 season.

Getting new people on the committee is a great opportunity to provide fresh ideas and energy to keep this club moving forward.

The heart and soul of this club comes from the support and volunteer power of its players. If you are interested in being involved and driving the direction of this great club, we urge you to put your name forward for a committee or support position.

Even if you are not interested in becoming a committee member, it is important that you attend the AGM event so your voice can be heard. The AGM is also your opportunity to provide comments and suggestions to the club for the 2013 season. What did or did not work from the 2012 season? Let the new committee know which direction they should be going.

This is everybody’s club and your thoughts and suggestions are always welcomed and encouraged.

There are several committee positions available – see the email that was sent out this weekend for details.

Committee members are expected to attend regular club meetings that happen about every 2-4 weeks during the season. (About every 4-6 weeks weeks in the offseason)

We encourage any who are interested to step up for any of the committee positions!

Also – don’t feel intimidated about taking a position if you’re a newer member; if you’ve got the skills and the commitment, you are qualified.

Below is a partial list of some of the great items that will be available in both the live and silent auctions:

The Eagle Bears came out strong from the start, aided by a struggling Wizards defense, and went into the half with a nine point advantage.

However, the Wizards rallied in the second half, and closed the gap going into the final minute – but it wasn’t enough. A last minute point by Eagle Bears captain Ryan Newitt sealed the game for the red team.

MVP of the game honors go to the Eagle Bears’ James Walsh, with another outstanding performance

The game will be at Magnuson Park on Sunday July 22nd at noon.

Player of the Game honors go to Corinne Newitt and Lorcan French.

With this win, the Eagle Bears will advance to the City League Championship along with the Rain City Wizards – both teams with 3-2 records on the season. It was a hard fought and well played season all around by the Honey Badgers.

The final game of the regular season will be a preview match of the Championship on on Thursday July 19th at 7pm, when the Wizards take on the Eagle Bears to see who will head into the final with the best record.

A good game by both teams, but the Rain City Wizards, come away with a 3-7 to 1-9 win.
